About this worksheet
Medium puzzles remove as many clues as they can while staying solvable by the basic moves alone. Nothing more advanced is ever needed, but the next move is often hiding in a single row or box, so these reward patient, systematic scanning.
If you get stuck, go digit by digit through each box, then row by row. Writing small candidate numbers in the corners of empty cells also helps on these grids.

- How is the difficulty decided?
- By the solving techniques a puzzle needs, not just by how many clues it has. Easy and medium puzzles can be finished by finding the one digit that fits a cell or the one cell where a digit fits; easy puzzles also keep extra clues. Hard puzzles need at least one step beyond that, such as spotting a pair of cells that share the same two candidates.
- Do I need to guess on medium puzzles?
- No. Every puzzle here can be finished by logic alone, using only the two basic moves. If a puzzle seems stuck, there is a cell or digit with only one option that has not been spotted yet.
