About this worksheet
In second grade the goal moves from forming letters to writing fluently: keeping handwriting legible while writing longer pieces, copying from the board, and writing across a whole page. Letter size, slant, and spacing that stay consistent from the first line to the last are a good sign that printing is becoming automatic.
This sheet sets two connected sentences as copywork on full-width guide lines. Use passages from science or social studies, a favorite poem, or spelling sentences. Some schools also begin cursive in second grade; if yours does, switch the font to a cursive style in the editor and keep the same text.
