About this worksheet
Young writers often start with a picture and then write a sentence about it. This paper gives them both on one page: a framed drawing space at the top and tall three-line guides underneath, the layout of primary journal and story paper. The sample uses a half-page box and 16 mm lines sized for kindergarten.
Make the box a third or half of the page, or remove it, and set the line height and guide style to match your students. You can also shade the space between the midline and baseline or use sky and grass colored lines.
