About this worksheet
Multiplying by 10 adds a zero to the end of a whole number: 10 × 7 = 70. Every answer ends in 0.
This is a place-value idea as much as a fact: each digit moves one place to the left. The 10s also help with the 5s (half) and 9s (one group less).

Questions
- Why does multiplying by 10 add a zero?
- Each digit moves one place to the left, so ones become tens, and a 0 fills the ones place. “Adding a zero” describes the result for whole numbers.
- Why are the 10 times table problems in random order?
- In order, children can skip count to each answer. Mixed order checks that each fact is actually remembered.
- Are these 10 times table worksheets free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page, with its answer key, is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Generating and previewing new problems is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
