About this worksheet
The 7 times table has few easy patterns, which is why it is often the hardest. The ones digits go 7, 4, 1, 8, 5, 2, 9, 6, 3, 0 and every digit appears once.
Most of the 7s are already known from other tables (7 × 3 is 3 × 7). That leaves 7 × 7 = 49, 7 × 8 = 56, and a few others to memorize; “5, 6, 7, 8” (56 = 7 × 8) helps with one of them.

Questions
- Why is the 7 times table so hard?
- It has no simple doubling or ending pattern. Because of the commutative property, though, by the time children reach the 7s they already know most of them from other tables.
- Why are the 7 times table problems in random order?
- In order, children can skip count to each answer. Mixed order checks that each fact is actually remembered.
- Are these 7 times table worksheets free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page, with its answer key, is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Generating and previewing new problems is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
