About this worksheet

December classrooms run on excitement, and a festive word list channels some of it into careful handwriting. The words stay general and cheerful: 'tree', 'star', 'gift', 'snow', and 'bell' are short enough for beginners, while 'reindeer' and 'wreath' give stronger writers longer letter strings to manage. These words show up again in cards, gift tags, and letters, so the practice gets put to use right away.

Use the sheet during the weeks leading up to winter break, as a writing center activity, or as a warm-up before students make cards for family and friends. If your class marks a range of December holidays, add words from each one or switch to a winter word list, then check the live preview before printing.

Questions

Can I turn this into a sheet for writing holiday cards?
Yes. Add the words students plan to write, such as 'merry', 'happy', 'love', or the names of family members, so they can practice them before writing the real card. Tracing first helps the finished card look neat.
What if my class celebrates different December holidays?
Edit the list to include words from each celebration your students share, or replace it with general winter words like 'snow', 'mitten', and 'cocoa'. The editor accepts any words and rebuilds the sheet immediately.
Are the Christmas worksheets free?
Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
