About this worksheet

Fall brings a ready-made vocabulary that children can see out of the classroom window: leaves turning color, acorns on the ground, apples, and pumpkins. The list moves from short words like 'leaf' and 'rake' to longer ones like 'scarecrow' and 'sweater', so one sheet practices both compact letters and longer words with even spacing. None of the words are tied to a holiday, so the sheet works from September through November.

Use it alongside a fall nature walk, a leaf collection, or a science unit on seasons, and have students label their finds with words from the sheet. Swap in local trees or harvest foods, such as 'maple' or 'cider', and the editor rebuilds the page while you preview it.

Questions

Can I use this for a seasons unit?
Yes. The fall sheet pairs with the winter and seasons worksheets in the theme library, so students can compare the vocabulary of each season.
Is this a Halloween worksheet?
No. The words are general autumn words, so the sheet suits schools that do not celebrate Halloween. There is a separate Halloween worksheet if you want one.
Are the fall worksheets free?
Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
