About this worksheet
Numbers one through ten are the first numerals children learn to write, and most of them are learned in this order because counting reinforces it. Each number gets a full row of faded numerals to trace, followed by a blank guide line to write it independently. Working through the set in counting order lets your child say each number aloud while writing it.
Expect reversals in 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 at this stage; they are a normal part of learning. If one numeral is clearly harder, open the sheet in the editor and make a page of just that number, or use the single-number pages linked below for numeral-specific formation tips.
- 01
Every numeral from 1 to 10
One traced row per number in counting order, each followed by a blank row to write it independently.
- 02
Trace, then write
Faded numerals carry the shape; the blank line below checks whether it stuck.

Edit the range
Open the sheet in the editor to drop numbers your child already writes well or to add harder ones.
Questions
- What order should I teach numbers 1 to 10?
- Counting order is the most common and is what this sheet uses. Some programs group numerals by stroke instead (for example 1, 4, 7 with straight lines first, then curved ones). Either works; consistency matters more than order.
- How many pages is the 1–10 sheet?
- Two pages on US Letter or A4 at the default size: one traced row and one blank row per number. You can change the row size in the editor.
- Are the number tracing worksheets 1–10 free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
