About this worksheet
Fifteen is a 1 followed by a 5. Write the straight 1, then the 5: a short line down to the midline, a round belly to the right that ends near the baseline, then lift and add the flat hat at the top. The hat goes on last and should line up with the top of the 1.
Fifteen combines the teen-order mix-up with a numeral that is often reversed, so it is worth slow tracing. Coins make a good link: a dime and a nickel make fifteen cents. The spelling is “fif”, not “five”, which is a common mistake in early writing.

Questions
- Why is fifteen spelled with “fif”?
- The “five” sound shortened to “fif” in fifteen and fifty. Tracing the word helps children remember the change.
- My child writes 51 for fifteen. Is that normal?
- Yes, it is a very common teen-number mistake. Say “one ten and five ones” and write the tens digit first every time.
- Are the number 15 tracing worksheets free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
