About this worksheet
Nineteen is a 1 followed by a 9. Write the straight 1, then the 9: start just below the top line, make a small counterclockwise loop in the top half, and pull a straight line down from its right side to the baseline. Keep the 9 close to the 1 and facing the right way.
Nineteen is the last teen number, so it is a good point to review the pattern: every teen number starts with a 1, the tens digit. The 9 is often reversed, and the word keeps “nine” whole, including the silent e. After 19, counting on to 20 shows the tens digit changing for the first time.
