About this worksheet
Seventeen is a 1 followed by a 7. Write the straight 1, then the 7: a straight line across the top to the right, then a slanted line down to the baseline. Leave enough space after the 1 that the top bar of the 7 does not touch it.
The 1 and the 7 both have straight strokes, so the two digits can blur together if they are crowded. Focus on even spacing. At nine letters, “seventeen” is the longest word up to twenty, which makes it a good stretch for letter spacing on the last rows.

Questions
- How do I keep 17 from looking like 1 and 7 run together?
- Leave a small gap after the 1 and start the 7’s top bar a little to the right. Tracing the row first shows the spacing.
- Should the 7 in 17 have a crossbar?
- Use the same 7 your child writes on its own. In US schools that is usually the plain 7 without a crossbar.
- Are the number 17 tracing worksheets free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
