About this worksheet
Eighteen is a 1 followed by an 8. Write the straight 1, then the 8 either in one stroke (start at the top, make an S, and come back up through the middle) or as two stacked circles. The 8 should be the same height as the 1, with the top loop slightly smaller than the bottom one.
The word “eighteen” has only one t, even though “eight” ends in t and “teen” starts with one. It is a frequent spelling error, so trace the word slowly. For the numeral, the main job is a neat 8 at the same height as the 1.

Questions
- Why does eighteen have only one t?
- The two t’s of “eight” and “teen” merged into one. Children often write “eightteen”, so tracing the correct spelling is useful.
- Can my child write the 8 as two circles here?
- Yes. Any readable 8 is fine. Use whichever method your child uses for 8 on its own.
- Are the number 18 tracing worksheets free?
- Yes. The sample sheet on this page is a free PDF in US Letter or A4, no account needed. Creating and previewing your own version is free too; printing and downloading custom sheets come with Pro, which also removes the preview watermark.
