About this worksheet
Lowercase x starts with an overcurve to the midline, then a slant line down to the baseline and an undercurve exit. The crossing is a separate slant line from the midline to the baseline, added after the word. Uppercase X starts with a curve forward and slant down, then ends with an undercurve; the crossing stroke is added afterward.
Lowercase x joins the next letter through its undercurve exit, while the crossing waits until the word is done. Programs differ on uppercase X; many leave a gap after it.

Cursive x is usually taught alongside the other letters in its stroke family, so practicing them together reinforces the shared starting stroke.
